The Queen.

I met Uche through Uche Okonkwo and my brother. In my first year at ABSU and every morning, when us PACE sleepyheads would reluctantly pull ourselves out of bed and head outside to brush n' bathe, I'd see Uche coming in from her morning run and wonder "Na wa oo! As this girl perfect like dis, she still dey work out while "manageable aspirants" like me dey dey sleep? In fact, Tomorrow I'll start! See how she's just glowing!!!" (Of course, that early morning-run of mine never happened). Uche was in a class of her own, the undisputed Queen of ABSU. She sought no attention or drama choosing to keep a very private life and for good reason, because whenever she walked by, all eyes would stop and stare. Not only because of her outward beauty but she was just ...Different. Asides her unique skin which seemed to glow, she had this poise, this elegance, such quiet confidence, so much...she simply glowed from inside. When there was a rumour that they'd be a Miss ABSU competition, many girls were thinking of contesting, but once someone began a rumour that Uche might contest, everybody's liver started "cutting". Who would dare to go up against such a classy epitome of beauty who had won the admiration of the entire school without any effort? She behaved impeccably. If the beautiful were exempt, Death could not have come close to her. Reading up risk factors of colon cancer, Uche's passing defies logic. She ate healthily, worked out religiously, was definitely not obese, did not smoke, was neither old nor diabetic, neither alcoholic nor male, the list goes on. This shows us that our time can come anytime and God wanted her to adorn Heaven NOW. To Him be all the glory. She made her peace with Him and is now up somewhere where there is no more pain. Uche, Rest In Peace in the bosom of our Lord.
